I truly had SO much fun working with Reese for her senior photos at Dix Park in Raleigh! She was absolutely delightful to work with and has one of the best smiles and laughs! :) Her mom originally reached out to me about senior photos after seeing some of the photos I had captured with the sunflowers at Dix Park. Reese loves nature and wanted to incorporate sunflowers into her senior portraits, and thankfully, the timing worked out perfectly! If you’re familiar with the Dix Park sunflowers, you know they don’t last long…they last only about two weeks!

One of my favorite parts of Reese’s session was how she made it personal to her. She brought along her favorite stuffed bear and a favorite book, and we had so much fun incorporating both into her photos! I also learned that Reese is an animal lover (she even has pet frogs!), so it seemed especially fitting to have the bees buzzing around the sunflower field while we were taking photos! :)

It was such a JOY to work with the F family again as they welcomed their third baby! I had the honor of photographing their previous two children when they were babies, so it was extra special to come back and see how much their family has grown :)

I arrived at their Durham home a little early and couldn't resist capturing a few candid photos of the older kids while everyone was getting ready. Their oldest daughter was wearing the sweetest “Big Sister” shirt, which felt especially fitting for the occasion! Once everyone was ready, we started the newborn session outside. We captured some sweet family portraits along with plenty of fun, candid moments with the kids. I especially loved that their daughter wanted a chance to hold her new baby brother, too. Those little interactions between siblings are always some of my favorite moments to capture!

Afterward, we headed inside for some relaxed lifestyle newborn photos around their home. One of my favorite parts was how their baby boy peacefully slept through nearly all of the noise and activity around him. With two older siblings, there was plenty going on, but he was completely unfazed! Then, as soon as the older kids left with Dad to get donuts, he woke up :)

I love in-home newborn sessions because they give families the chance to slow down and capture this season of life right where so many of their everyday memories are being made. I had a ton of fun capturing E’s 6-month milestone session at the gorgeous Bond Park in Cary, NC! It was extra special to have this family’s au pair join us for the shoot as she will be heading back home in the fall. The kids absolutely LOVE her, and it was so sweet to be able to document a few shots of her and the children! We captured some beautiful shots near the trails by the boathouse, and then made our way to the big field. Baby E had the cutest smiles and was also sitting up, which was super special to capture! We then ended the shoot playing and running around, and the sunset was absolutely stunning. Scroll down to see my favorite moments below!
