It was such an honor to capture these Duke graduation photos for this wonderful group of friends! These ladies met each other through Duke Law and became fast friends. Before the shoot, they sent me some ideas of the poses and locations they want to do photos at, and I loved that we did a few photos in the Law Library! I had the sweetest time capturing a surprise proposal for Logan and Liz this spring! When Logan first reached out to me, he shared that they were casual people, and wanted the proposal to feel authentic and intimate. He knew Liz wouldn't want a lot of people around, and they frequently would go on walks around Lake Betz. He knew that doing the most normal and ordinary thing would be when she'd least expect a proposal…and he was totally right!

Logan and I scouted the location beforehand, and we planned where he’ll stand and where I’ll be. The goal was for me to stay far enough so they could enjoy the moment together privately. When the day came, I remember doing my best to blend among the bushes and reeds with a telephoto lens, and waiting for the special moment! When they made their way around the corner to the proposal spot, it was SO sweet to witness. Liz was completely surprised!

It was such a joy to see the C family again for their annual family photos! This year we captured their photos at Bond Park in Cary, NC. I remember being nervous about the iffy weather we were having, but it turned out to be a gorgeous evening! I told them they brought the sunshine :) One of the things I love most about this family is how much they love to laugh and smile! The kids were energetic and silly, and they were also AMAZING at soccer! I definitely did not have that kind of footwork as a kid (I was always more of an artsy and musical kid!), and it was so special to capture their soccer skills at this age. I also loved how their dad also demonstrated his talent and soccer skills with the kids!
