There’s something special about having extended family together—and Jack’s surprise 70th birthday celebration was the perfect reason to gather everyone in one place! His daughter, Samantha, reached out to me because they were planning a surprise party for her dad’s birthday in Durham, NC, and she wanted to take advantage of the occasion to capture updated family photos while everyone was together. With family and friends gathered from all over to celebrate such an important milestone, it was a wonderful opportunity to document this precious moment in time! I truly had SO much fun capturing this special occasion, and it was clear how loved Jack was by his family and friends. I had the honor of working with the C family again—this time to capture a sweet family reunion with their extended family! :) It was so special meeting everyone and documenting a session that included grandparents and siblings. We met at Umstead Park in Cary, and it turned out to be an unusually warm day for December, with temperatures reaching 70 degrees! Everyone was such a joy to photograph, and the kids were especially happy and full of smiles, making the session feel effortless and fun! I had such a blast working with the G family over Thanksgiving weekend! They were such a cheerful group, and it was so sweet that both sides of the family were able to gather for the holiday. I thought one of the most memorable parts of the shoot was seeing how much the grandparents could get the kiddos to laugh (the youngest grandchild loved being tossed in the air!). It was also sweet to see how much the kids love their uncle, too, and the joy on everyone’s faces just to be together :) See more of my favorite moments below!
