There’s something special about having extended family together—and Jack’s surprise 70th birthday celebration was the perfect reason to gather everyone in one place! His daughter, Samantha, reached out to me because they were planning a surprise party for her dad’s birthday in Durham, NC, and she wanted to take advantage of the occasion to capture updated family photos while everyone was together. With family and friends gathered from all over to celebrate such an important milestone, it was a wonderful opportunity to document this precious moment in time! I truly had SO much fun capturing this special occasion, and it was clear how loved Jack was by his family and friends. I had the honor of capturing some BEAUTIFUL lifestyle photos for this sweet family in Durham a few weeks ago! I remember Anne telling me that they wanted to remember this special time because their baby girl just turned ONE! :) Baby M was one of the friendliest babies I’ve met; she loved to wave her hand to say “hi!” and would literally just walk right up to you. Another memorable part of the shoot was seeing how much she loved her stuffed octopus! We captured some adorable photos with her sitting with her beloved octopus and wearing her cute birthday crown. My favorite part is honestly just capturing their family reading, playing, and simply being together :) It’s these everyday moments that truly make life meaningful and special! First birthdays are truly a special milestone to celebrate! I had the honor of working with Zepel family again, and we had such a great time photographing Olivia’s first birthday! :) She was such a delight and I loved how she would mimic her parents (like during peek-a-boo!). She also loves reading time, and it was so cute to see her go through her books and pull them off the shelf! I think my favorite part of the whole shoot was seeing her do the cake smash. She took a small taste first then went all in and put the whole cake in her face! It was HILARIOUS and we couldn’t stop laughing! :) Enjoy seeing some more special moments from this precious first birthday! Happy birthday again, Olivia!
