It was such an honor to photograph this beautiful in-home newborn session for this sweet family! As a Durham newborn photographer, I love documenting these precious first weeks, and this session was especially meaningful as they welcomed home their beautiful adopted baby girl. She had the cutest little expressions and loved sticking out her tongue, which I couldn't resist capturing! I also loved including the family's three dogs, who were so gentle and affectionate with their newest family member.

We captured a lot of relaxed, lifestyle newborn photos throughout their home, preserving all the cuddles, joyful smiles, and tender moments that make this season so special :) It was truly a privilege to document this exciting new chapter for their family! I had the honor of capturing newborn photos for the H family recently as they welcomed their second baby! Our friend gifted this newborn session to her brother, and it was so sweet to capture this special time for the whole family (including the grandparents!). We captured a mix of family photos with the extended family as well as some tender moments with the immediate family. My favorite moment was capturing their daughter and her toy camera! I remember I was prepping for some detailed shots of her baby brother, and she sat on the bed and proceeded to take a picture of her brother :) It was SO cute and adorable, and I’m so glad to have captured that moment! I had the sweetest time capturing a surprise proposal for Logan and Liz this spring! When Logan first reached out to me, he shared that they were casual people, and wanted the proposal to feel authentic and intimate. He knew Liz wouldn't want a lot of people around, and they frequently would go on walks around Lake Betz. He knew that doing the most normal and ordinary thing would be when she'd least expect a proposal…and he was totally right!

Logan and I scouted the location beforehand, and we planned where he’ll stand and where I’ll be. The goal was for me to stay far enough so they could enjoy the moment together privately. When the day came, I remember doing my best to blend among the bushes and reeds with a telephoto lens, and waiting for the special moment! When they made their way around the corner to the proposal spot, it was SO sweet to witness. Liz was completely surprised!
