Olivia's First Birthday | Durham Family Photographer

First birthdays are truly a special milestone to celebrate! I had the honor of working with Zepel family again, and we had such a great time photographing Olivia’s first birthday! :) She was such a delight and I loved how she would mimic her parents (like during peek-a-boo!). She also loves reading time, and it was so cute to see her go through her books and pull them off the shelf! I think my favorite part of the whole shoot was seeing her do the cake smash. She took a small taste first then went all in and put the whole cake in her face! It was HILARIOUS and we couldn’t stop laughing! :) Enjoy seeing some more special moments from this precious first birthday! Happy birthday again, Olivia!

A Special Note on Safety and COVID-19:

To help ensure a safe shoot for clients, I wear a mask during the session and do my best to maintain proper social distance. If you are considering a family photography shoot, I’d love to hear from you! Feel free to contact me and I can provide you with more details about how I’m handling safety during COVID-19.

Turning One! | Durham Family Photographer

Turning ONE is such a wonderful and special milestone to celebrate! Babies change SO much in their first year and being able to document this time is worth everything. I had the honor of taking one year photos for baby Lilia, and I met her mom, Bree, at a Triangle Area Parenting Support event last year. Her mom dressed Lilia in the most ADORABLE outfit that said, “Sweet One,” which was donut-themed (who else love puns?!). One of the most memorable moments from the shoot was capturing Lilia’s determination to walk. Even though she was still wobbly and would fall down a number of times, she would get right back up and would try again. She showed SO much resilience and determination, but she also expressed so much JOY! One of my favorite photos is of her walking by herself and grinning ear to ear, which you can find below!

I also loved documenting mother-daughter photos of Bree and Lilia. Getting in the photos with your children is something I believe every parent should try and do at least once a year. Your children grow up SO fast and these moments slip by so quickly. To document your love and connection is something you’ll never regret doing.

Happy birthday to baby Lilia, and I hope y’all enjoy some of my favorite photos below!
