I was so excited when the D family reached out about scheduling spring photos! They are some of my longest-standing clients, and it has been such an honor to photograph so many milestones for their family over the years—from newborn photos for both of their boys to family sessions as they've grown!

This spring, we met at Dix Park in Raleigh for a beautiful evening session, and they brought a fun surprise for their boys: lightsabers! :) It was adorable watching the excitement on their faces when they found out. One of my favorite moments was when their youngest stretched out his hand and said he was "using the Force.” It had us all laughing!

We spent most of the session taking photos around the Big Field before finishing near one of the famous trolls at Dix Park. When we were walking over to see the trolls, their oldest wanted to show me that some of his adult teeth have grown in, and the photo I caught was so funny, genuine, and priceless! I had the honor of capturing graduation photos for Christina as she celebrated her graduation from Duke Law School! Christina was an absolute joy to work with, and one of the most meaningful parts of the session was having two of her close friends join us for a few photos. After losing her mother about a year ago, these friends were a tremendous source of support during her time at Duke. Although they won't graduate until next year, she wanted to document their friendship before this chapter of life came to a close.

It truly was a sweet reminder that graduation is about more than earning a degree—it's also about the people who walk alongside us through life's challenges and celebrations. I was deeply honored to capture these memories for Christina and her friends, and preserving this season of friendship, resilience, and accomplishment. It was such an honor to capture these Duke graduation photos for this wonderful group of friends! These ladies met each other through Duke Law and became fast friends. Before the shoot, they sent me some ideas of the poses and locations they want to do photos at, and I loved that we did a few photos in the Law Library!
