A Joyous Graduation Portrait Session | Duke Graduation Photography

It was such a joy working with Amanda, a recent master’s graduate from Duke University! We had a blast capturing photos around Duke Chapel, and one of the things I loved about working with her was her enthusiasm and cheerful nature. We did a lot of portraits as well as fun jumping photos and tossing-the-cap photos!

She also incorporated a Porg plush in her shoot. I learned that the Porgs were created because when filming The Last Jedi, they couldn’t remove the puffins that were on the island. So instead of editing the puffins out, they turned them into Porgs! For her, the Porgs symbolized the idea of making something great out of a bad situation. After being in a career rut, it led her to nurture her passion for health IT and brought her to Duke! I thought that was such a beautiful story, and loved how she incorporate the Porg into her shoot :)

See more amazing highlights from this wonderful graduation session below! Congrats again, Amanda, and thank you for entrusting me to capture this special season of life for you!
