The Smith Family | Raleigh Maternity Photographer

Y'all, if you're going to be having baby #2 (or 3, or 4), definitely consider capturing family photos before the newest member of your family arrives. Your family dynamic will change with every new life you add to your family, and documenting the different seasons of your life is something you will never regret.

A few weeks ago I had the honor to capture maternity photos and family portraits in Raleigh for the Smith family. When we took the photos, Lindsay was around 34 weeks and she looked absolutely stunning in her green floral maternity dress (it was so light and flowy!). In addition, we captured some mommy and me portraits of her and her son, Bennett. She wanted to document a few photos of her and her first born, before the baby arrives. Bennett had the most ADORABLE smile and was so excited to be a big brother!!

When we got to the family portraits, my heart was so full watching them all play and interact with one another. Capturing photos of their entire family--as a family of three--was so moving. This season, this moment, is so precious to remember. At the same time, there's so much excitement for baby #2 to arrive! I can't wait for the Smith family to create new memories together as a family of four :) Enjoy the photos!

Best Photographer in Durham | Winner of Durham Magazine's "The Best of Durham" Issue

Best Photographer in Durham | Durham Magazine, The Best of Durham 2018 | G. Lin Photography

Y'all, I recently found out that I've been voted as one of the Best Professional Photographers in Durham, which was part of Durham Magazine's "The Best of Durham 2018" issue (see page 66!). Awards like these are seriously SO humbling and honoring especially for small business owners. Anyone who owns a small business knows how much time, sweat, work, and effort you pour into your business. I remember Lori Greiner, from the popular show Shark Tank, once said that entrepreneurs are "the only people who work 80 hour weeks to avoid working 40 hour weeks." It's so true!

All of this to say THANK YOU to all who've supported me. This would not have been possible without all of YOU. I look forward to continue serving you and this vibrant community, and capturing your most precious memories! Congratulations to ALL the winners of Durham Magazine's "The Best of Durham 2018" issue!

Celebrating a UNC Graduate | Hillsborough Family Photographer

Graduation parties are SO much fun, and such a wonderful accomplishment to celebrate with family! I had the honor to take some family photos for this UNC grad, Griffin. It was such a lively party with lots of bbq, children, and love! Griffin is the fourth of FIVE kids, the only BOY, and the fourth one to graduate from UNC! He also is the uncle to five ADORABLE nephews and nieces. I learned he is also close to his grandma, and was so happy to capture a sweet portrait of the two of them outside on the porch. Enjoy scrolling through some of my favorites!!
