A Gorgeous Morning Shoot at Dix Park | Raleigh Family Photographer

Morning shoots are definitely the way to go during the scorching summers here in North Carolina! If you’re a local, you know how hot and humid it can get by the afternoon and evening. For happy kids and happy parents, I often suggest to schedule a shoot in the morning when it’s cooler and less sticky. It’s more comfortable for everyone, which means happier kids and more smiles! ;)

I recently had the honor of photographing adorable six month photos for this sweet family! Baby M loved looking at my camera during the shoot—it was as if she was studying my camera! She held a steady gaze with the camera for almost every shot, and was so sweet and calm during the shoot. I also loved how her parents incorporated Sophie (the popular giraffe teether) and “Cro-bot,” the crocheted robot, into the shoot! Her dad is an engineer, which I thought was so fitting for the Cro-bot :) Y’all, if you have something special that you’d like to incorporate into your shoot, please bring it! I highly encourage families to bring lovies or items that will help put their baby at ease; plus, it truly makes your photo extra special and memorable.

A Special Note on Safety and COVID-19:

To help ensure a safe shoot for clients, I wear masks for all sessions and do my best to maintain proper social distance. If you are considering a family photography shoot, I’d love to hear from you! Feel free to contact me and I can provide you with more details about how I’m handling safety during COVID-19.

The Boros Family | Raleigh Family Photographer

I had so much fun taking photos for the Boros family this past fall at Umstead Park in Raleigh! Stefanie and I had a great connection during the initial consultation. I remember her telling me that they were looking for a photographer who can capture candid moments, and boy, we sure had a lot of candid and FUN moments during this shoot!

One of the most memorable things from this shoot was that we found a TOAD during our session. It was so endearing to see how excited everyone was and how the boys’ faces lit up! Capturing the youngest one giggling while holding the toad was priceless! I also learned that this family was an animal-loving family, and it was so evident when they gently handled the toad :) We ended the shoot by the lake, and the sun was setting so beautifully. I think another one of my favorite moments towards the end was when I was capturing a portrait of all of them hugging and embracing one another. It was a brief moment, but truly a tender and beautiful moment that I know will be cherished forever!

Enjoy some of my favorite photos below and getting to know this wonderful family!

The Driskill Family | Raleigh Family Photographer

I had SO much fun taking family photos for the Driskill’s a couple of weeks ago. The Driskill family is one of the most relaxed and easygoing families I’ve ever met! Even though the forecast was saying that it was going to rain on our session date, that didn’t stop this family :) The day of our shoot was cloudy with some intermittent rain, but we were still able to capture some ADORABLE shots of the family and the children.

When the rain started to come down a little harder, we continued the shoot back to their home, which was thankfully nearby! It was funny because Audrey’s parents and family were having dinner when we got home, but they were so warm and welcoming to have us continue the shoot! We then captured some additional photos of the whole family around their beautiful home. From snuggling on the couch to playing with toys, the most memorable part for me was capturing how much the oldest son loved to jump on the couch (see photos below!). We then ended the shoot with a little dance party with his family and auntie!

It truly was an honor to capture these sweet memories for this beautiful family! Enjoy scrolling through the photos below!
