A Sweet Lifestyle Session at Home | Durham Family Photographer

I had such a wonderful time working with E recently and her two ADORABLE dogs, Jackson and Luna! We captured some beautiful lifestyle family photos at her charming home. As I was about to start taking photos on the back porch, Jackson (the smaller dog) was totally ready for the camera! He gave me the cutest smile and wore the CUTEST little bow tie! :) We also captured some sweet portraits of Luna, and she had great energy and was also full of smiles. She also wore a pretty pearl necklace!

We also captured some relaxing photos inside the kitchen and living room, and ended the session with some fun photos in the backyard. Jackson, who is 11 years old, was still amazingly fast and agile, and Luna (who is 2 years old) was also incredible at catching the ball! See more sweet and fun moments from this wonderful lifestyle family session below!

Meet Moose the Corgi! | Raleigh Family Photographer

I recently took family photos for this beautiful family with their dog, Moose, the corgi! When Pauline got in touch with me, she share with me the emotional journey they had with their dog, Moose, this year. In a nutshell, Moose fell twice and had to get two back surgeries, and they almost lost her. After a lot of hard work at rehab, she is amazingly walking again! With everything that has happened this year, they wanted to take photos to celebrate Moose and to have pictures of the three of them together that they can cherish for years to come!

The weather was crisp and cool the day of their session, and there were a lot of other families at NCMA with their dogs—it was like a party! When we started our photo shoot, I was amazed at how Pauline, Alex, and Moose were so natural and comfortable in front of the camera. Usually it takes about 10 minutes for most people to warm up, but they were SO relaxed and it totally shows in their photos!

Moose was also such a gentle and calm dog, and had the most adorable smile! Pauline taught me that if you say, “chicken,” Moose will turn her head towards you!! It was SO cute and worked every time! Also, when we were taking photos of just Pauline and Alex, Moose kept getting in their shots. We would place her next to me, but she will end up walking back towards them—it was hilarious! See for yourself below! I think it just shows how much she loves them :) If you’d like to follow Moose’s journey, check out @m00sethecorgi on Instagram!

Sunrise Portrait Session in Durham, NC | Durham Family Photographer

There is nothing more beautiful than doing a portrait session during sunrise in Durham, NC! The morning light is incredibly soft making it ideal to take portraits. Despite the cold temperature, Melanie and her dog, Sadie, were troopers and greeted me with amazing warmth and energy. It was such a delight to take pictures of their bright smiles and friendly personalities!
