First birthdays are such a special milestone! Last month I had the honor of photographing the Daniels family again, and it was EXACTLY on Baby H’s first birthday! We had SO much fun capturing lots of snuggles and smiles, and there were so many cute moments. I love how Baby H would start laughing when his dad, Mitch, would start making a deep, hearty laugh (that’s how we got a lot of these smiles!). I also loved capturing photos of Baby H waving his hand to say hi or bye! I remember my niece doing the same thing around this age, and it’s seriously the CUTEST thing! We also incorporated the blue sweater that Kirah knitted, and also included his stuffed Hobbes in the shoot (you may recall seeing them at their maternity shoot and newborn shoot). I love it when families incorporate special items into the shoot! It makes the photos even more meaningful.

If you know anyone expecting during this pandemic, please know I am available to conduct a safe newborn session at home. I had the honor of documenting newborn photos for Lindsay and Josh recently, and baby O was so peaceful and happy during our session. To help maintain a safe shoot, we had a contactless session and I wore a mask during the shoot. We also took photos outside their home, and it was so beautiful!

I loved how they also included their dog, Ringo, in the shoot! He is a cute schnauzer and they had to trim the fur around his eyes in preparation for the session. Even dogs need their home haircuts! :) Enjoy highlights from this beautiful newborn session below!

Babies change SO much within the first year, and it’s so important to capture their growth when they’re still little! It’s worth everything to have memories of their development because this time is so fleeting. Ilec got in touch with me to capture nine month photos of Baby S, and it was such an honor to capture this special time! Baby S was a very happy and smiley baby, and it was so endearing to see how happy she was playing with her mom, dad, and Ami the dog! There were so many playful, silly, and fun moments, and one of my favorite photos was capturing Baby S sitting on Ami—she was all smiles and absolutely loved it! Ami was also such a friendly family dog, and seeing the way they all interacted and played with each other was so fun! :) As you may know, I’m all about capturing candid and genuine moments—there’s something so beautiful about capturing the authenticity of the moment.
