What a joy it was to capture this special and sweet newborn session! I worked with Melissa earlier in the year to help capture photos for her adoption profile book. I was thrilled when she contacted me again to notify me that she was matched! Baby E was a delightful to meet, and slept like a champ during our session. She made the cutest little faces, and was such a relaxed baby! The dogs were also thrilled to have another member of the family, and were so sweet and gentle with her. I had such a wonderful time capturing this beautiful newborn session with the T family recently! They welcomed their first child, a sweet baby boy. When I arrived, Baby J was sleeping peacefully and I decided to start by capturing some solo portraits of him. He made the cutest poses and was so adorable! I also LOVED his Peter Rabbit themed nursery, and thought it would be meaningful to capture a couple of photos in the room with the whole family. How do I photograph a wedding in the middle of a hurricane? With LOTS of rain gear, protection, and backups! No matter what the weather conditions are, I’ve got your back :) I had the honor of working with Jesse and Orlando again, and it was a joy to capture their beautiful wedding. Hurricane Ophelia made her debut the day of their wedding, but that did not stop them from celebrating their love.

They had an intimate outdoor ceremony at their home, and despite the pouring rain, it was one of my favorite memories! Everything, from the weather to the mood, was just so real and authentic. I loved seeing how Jesse and Orlando (as well as all the guests and vendors!) simply embraced the rain and the moment. During the procession, I also loved how all the guests were cheering and clapping their hands when Jesse made it to the tent and reached Orlando! The support and love was so evident.

After the beautiful ceremony, the reception took place at the iconic Durham Arts Council. They had a sophisticated and unique dinner experience, and even had the owner from Snap Pea there! He explained the thought behind the menu, and shared the creative process regarding the dishes for the evening. When it was time to dance, they had a fun SOUL TRAIN, and the moves everyone had were SO good :) See more priceless moments from this beautiful wedding below! Congrats again, Jesse and Orlando!
