I had such a great time capturing family photos for the Berreth family! We captured their fall photos at Duke University, and the weather was so beautiful and crisp! Duke has a lot of natural backdrops and pathways around campus, so if you’re looking for a pretty photography location in Durham, definitely consider Duke! One of my favorite moments from the shoot was capturing their daughter wearing a kimono, which was her mom’s when she was a kid! She showed me a picture of her wearing it when she was two years old, and thought it would be special to capture her daughter wearing it when she was two. It was so sweet and special, and the kimono was in such great condition! Enjoy seeing more highlights from this family session below!

After many years of waiting and praying, this family was blessed with this sweet baby boy! As I got to know this family, I remember this mama described their journey as a struggle of loss, love, and perseverance. They wanted to capture this precious moment in time so that their son can see how much he was wanted and how much they loved him!

During their newborn session, I remember wanting to highlight the love, joy, and tenderness of this season of life. We didn't use any props and I didn't stage them in any awkward or cheesy poses. I wanted to capture something real and genuine, and instead asked them to engage and interact with their sweet baby boy. And you know what? It was MAGIC. It was truly a JOY to capture photos for the Richardson family this fall! They are truly one of the sweetest and kindest families I know, and have so much love and joy! We had so much fun capturing photos in their neighborhood, and the fall foliage was so beautiful and vibrant. I had them engage with one another with lots of hugs, kisses, and tickles, and the genuine smiles on their faces were so precious! :) One of my favorite moments was capturing photos by the lake and seeing the older two kids giving kisses to their youngest brother—it was so sweet!
