A Precious Time Together | Durham Family Photographer

I had a delightful time capturing family photos for the Adams family last month! This family was SO warm and welcoming, and there were so many wonderful highlights from this shoot. I captured a variety of groupings for the family, and the first one was a portrait of the grandparents, also known as Pop and Baba in the family! Baba has some mobility issues due to multiple sclerosis, and I thought it was incredibly touching to see Pop helping his wife walk towards the patio chairs for the shoot. Their love for one another was so sweet!

I also loved capturing the brother and sister shot of Steve and Robin (the adult children of Pop and Baba). Steve has down syndrome, and it was endearing to see his sister holding his hand during most of the shoot to help him feel comfortable! We also took a more candid style approach to get some genuine smiles. We had a fun conversation with Steve about what they’ll be doing later in the day, which was Pizza Friday!

One other memorable part of the shoot was capturing photos of their 17-year-old yorkie, Winston! He was so teeny tiny, and incredibly adorable and full of love! Even though he was blind and deaf, he showed so much affection for his owner, Becky, and towards the whole family. I loved the photo of him licking Becky’s face! :) Y’all, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, don’t wait to take photos with your family. Life goes by so fast! We can have a safe and socially distanced shoot, and I’ll be wearing a mask and refrain from contact. Please contact me to learn about the precautions I’m taking to ensure a safe shoot!

A Special Note on Safety and COVID-19:

A Beautiful Maternity Session at Home | Durham Maternity Photographer

I had such an AWESOME time capturing maternity photos for Courtney and Chip last month! Their goal was to have some joyful photos of themselves to capture this special time in their lives before their first child arrives. They also wanted to have some non-pajama clad images of themselves, and to have a reminder that doesn't make them think of the pandemic! We took photos outside their beautiful home with their friendly bulldog, Levi, and used their backyard (which had an amazing fig tree!) as well as the front and side of the house as backdrops. It was absolutely perfect, and I truly believe capturing photos at home is one of the most meaningful places to document your memories. Enjoy the gorgeous highlights below from this beautiful maternity session!

A Special Note on Safety and COVID-19:

To help ensure a safe shoot for clients, I wear masks for all sessions and do my best to maintain proper social distance. If you are considering a maternity or newborn photography shoot, I’d love to hear from you!
