A Fun Porch Portrait | Raleigh Family Photographer

“Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a GIFT. That's why it's called the present.”

I had a wonderful time taking photos for the Geary family again! We captured some beautiful porch portraits of the whole family (while maintaining good social distancing!), as well as some beautiful candid shots of them having fun together outside. They seriously have the most cheerful smiles, and seeing the joy and connection they have with one another is precious!

Even though we have all been staying home during this crazy time, capturing memories of your family in this season is so important. Kids are growing and changing every day, and they are only this little once! You may be concerned about safety, and I want to assure you that your safety is important to me, too. During the shoot, there will be no contact and I’ll be standing 6 feet away to maintain good social distancing. We don’t know how long this pandemic will last, but don’t let it hold you back from capturing memories! Feel free to contact me if you have questions or if you’d like to chat more!

A Memorable First Birthday | Raleigh Family Photographer

I had the honor of capturing this sweet girl’s first birthday recently! We had SO much fun capturing her mermaid theme party, which included portraits with her beautiful mommy and a cake smash! Every child reacts so differently when eating their first cake, and this baby girl showed curiosity and excitement! She first poked the cake with her fingers, then went face-first into the cake! It was ADORABLE, hilarious, and oh so cute! When we took the cake away (because we thought she was done eating!) she looked so sad and was about to cry. We gave it back to her and she happily put her face into the cake again! :) See more cute moments and highlights below!

Y’all, even though there is a pandemic happening in our world, memories still need to be captured. As you may be considering doing a photo shoot or not, please know your safety is important to me. I am committed to keeping you and your family safe during sessions, which means we will practice good social distancing and there will be no contact during the photo shoot. Please don’t hesitate to contact me for a complimentary consultation if you’d like to discuss more about my approach and methods!

An Intimate Wedding Ceremony | Raleigh Wedding Photographer

I had the wonderful honor of capturing Cassandra and Blake’s intimate wedding ceremony earlier this month! Like many brides and grooms, they’ve been planning for months for their spring wedding, but had to rearrange their plans due to COVID-19. They decided to hold a very small, intimate wedding ceremony on their original wedding date and postpone their larger gathering in the fall for family and friends. Fortunately their wedding venue, Merrimon-Wynne House, was able to still let them hold their intimate wedding ceremony! It included only their parents, officiant, first witness, and me (who had the honor of acting as a second witness!). The ceremony took place on the lawn and we made sure to practice good social distancing. Blake set up his camera to stream their wedding on Facebook Live so their family and friends could watch—it was so sweet and thoughtful! I also loved that he also used his GoPro as a backup to record their wedding (I’m all about backups, too!). After the ceremony, we signed the wedding certificate and took a few portraits to remember this special day.

If you have a wedding coming up and desire to get married on your original wedding date, consider hosting a very small, intimate ceremony on your original wedding date and hosting the reception at a later date. I’d be more than happy to be your photographer as well as your second witness, too :) Congrats again, Cassandra and Blake, and can’t wait to celebrate y’all again in a few months!

Venue: Merrimon-Wynne House
