A Fun Outdoor Family Shoot | Durham Family Photographer

I had the wonderful opportunity to document photos of the Carvalho family, and we took photos bright and early at 7:15am! During the summers, I often recommend to families to take photos in the morning. As most of you know, the summers here in North Carolina can get VERY hot and humid, and morning sessions offer a more comfortable experience! It’s cooler and less sticky, which means you’ll look less sweaty in photos and kids are usually happier!

We had SO much fun taking photos at one of their favorite parks, Johnston Mill Nature Preserve in the Chapel Hill-Durham area. It was my first time there and it was beautiful! The morning mist was so pretty and soft, and it felt so serene and peaceful. We had so much fun capturing photos of the whole family by the water, trails, and bridges. One of my favorite moments was when mom and dad were playing with baby C, and he was SO fascinated by his mom’s tongue! I quickly captured a photo of them sticking out their tongues, and it was priceless! By the end of the shoot, baby C was getting sleepy and tired, and it was adorable to see dad carrying him back :) Enjoy the highlights below!

9 Month Milestone | Raleigh Family Photographer

Babies change SO much within the first year, and it’s so important to capture their growth when they’re still little! It’s worth everything to have memories of their development because this time is so fleeting. Ilec got in touch with me to capture nine month photos of Baby S, and it was such an honor to capture this special time! Baby S was a very happy and smiley baby, and it was so endearing to see how happy she was playing with her mom, dad, and Ami the dog! There were so many playful, silly, and fun moments, and one of my favorite photos was capturing Baby S sitting on Ami—she was all smiles and absolutely loved it! Ami was also such a friendly family dog, and seeing the way they all interacted and played with each other was so fun! :) As you may know, I’m all about capturing candid and genuine moments—there’s something so beautiful about capturing the authenticity of the moment. It’s real and honest, and truly showcases your story as a family. Enjoy getting to know this wonderful family and seeing more highlights below!

A Fun Porch Portrait | Raleigh Family Photographer

“Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a GIFT. That's why it's called the present.”

I had a wonderful time taking photos for the Geary family again! We captured some beautiful porch portraits of the whole family (while maintaining good social distancing!), as well as some beautiful candid shots of them having fun together outside. They seriously have the most cheerful smiles, and seeing the joy and connection they have with one another is precious!

Even though we have all been staying home during this crazy time, capturing memories of your family in this season is so important. Kids are growing and changing every day, and they are only this little once! You may be concerned about safety, and I want to assure you that your safety is important to me, too. During the shoot, there will be no contact and I’ll be standing 6 feet away to maintain good social distancing. We don’t know how long this pandemic will last, but don’t let it hold you back from capturing memories! Feel free to contact me if you have questions or if you’d like to chat more!
