I had the honor of working with Emily and Justin recently for their engagement photos! They are such a sweet couple, and I thought it was awesome that they’re both dentists. I captured this special season of life for them at the beautiful Historic Yates Mill Pond Park in Raleigh. It was a SUPER windy and chilly day, but that didn’t stop us from having fun and capturing gorgeous photos!

We started off by doing photos at the iconic waterfall and mill. Because it was so windy, I had to pose them strategically so E’s hair wouldn’t fly over her face. I positioned them in a way that would help us work with the wind, versus against the wind (i.e., I had Emily facing towards the wind, and I placed their heads together to “hold” her hair down).

We then captured some photos by the awesome rustic log building. Not only did it help block the wind, but the sun was setting SO perfectly behind them! I also wanted to incorporate some symmetry and sun flares in the shots—and boy, I was thrilled with the results! We then ended the session capturing some beautiful candid shots of them in a small grassy field. See more stunning photos from this wonderful engagement session below!

I had such a lovely time working with the M family during the holidays! We captured some beautiful family lifestyle photos first in their living room. Their son was SO delightful and engaging, and was great at giving instructions on how to play with all his toys :) We then went outside and had a wonderful time swinging, and playing with A’s firetruck and bubble mower! We then ended ended the session with a family photo by the Christmas tree, and a precious photo of just mom and dad. See more of my favorite moments from this beautiful family session below!

I had a lot of fun working with the N family this month at the iconic American Tobacco Campus in Durham! Their daughter was celebrating a one-year milestone, and was an amazingly FAST crawler—I literally broke a sweat trying to keep up with her! She also had a delightful amount of energy and curiosity, which is such a special thing to capture at this age. I loved how relaxed this family was, and how much fun they had together!
