Graduates for Dress for Success Triangle NC | Raleigh Event Photographer

One of the things I love about Raleigh, NC is the number of amazing non-profits here in this area. Recently I had the wonderful opportunity to take professional head shots for these women graduating from Dress for Success Triangle NC! For those who don't know about Dress for Success, they serve under-employed and unemployed women in the Triangle area by providing them with the skills and resources to succeed in the workplace. They equip them with professional attire and development tools, as well as professional head shots, such as the ones I took for them!

We took these head shots at Lenovo in Morrisville, and it was such a joy to meet each one of these ladies. We finished the day with some group shots, and don't you love the excitement on their faces?! If you know a woman who is under-employed or unemployed in the Raleigh or Durham area, or if you would like information about DFS, please give them a call at 919-286-2128 or email them at trianglenc@dfstriangle.org.

The Phillips Family | Raleigh Family Photographer

What do you think of when you hear the word, "home?" It's a word that can stir up a lot of memories. Some may have moved a lot during our childhood and can't think of a place of permanence; others may have stayed in the same house their whole childhood! Regardless how often a person moves, the word "home" not only symbolizes a place, but often relates to family. Who did you live with? Who took care of you? Who did you fight, laugh, and play with? I believe the people you live with really helps define a home to be a home.

This lifestyle family session in Raleigh was so special because the Phillips will be moving soon, and they wanted to capture memories of their family in their beloved home. For those who aren't familiar with lifestyle sessions, lifestyle photography is simply about capturing people doing life. It's about photographing your everyday moments in a genuine and authentic way. During the shoot I had a chance to document the girls reading to their little brother, the family having a fun tickle session, and some family portraits (yes, funny faces are allowed!). Enjoy scrolling through some of my favorites below!

Head Shots for Gabriel | Durham Portrait Photographer at American Tobacco Campus

Do you know a friend, neighbor, or even family member who is in the military? It so happened that one of my friends from college, Gabriel, was here last week for training and wanted to get some portraits done before deployment. It was truly an honor to take his photos, and I am so grateful for the freedom we have. Even though we celebrate a few holidays each year to thank our servicemen and women, take a moment to say thank you to someone you know who is serving our country today!

Back to the session, we had a great time taking portraits around the American Tobacco Campus in Durham, NC. Despite the crowds (there was a wedding session, family session, and an engagement session happening!), we were able to snag a couple of good spots. The light was perfect as we took portrait photos during the "golden hour" - the time right before the sun is about to set. The soft light and warm hues really made this portrait session a success, giving the images a vibrant and timeless look.
