Capturing Love in a Hurricane | Durham Wedding Photographer

How do I photograph a wedding in the middle of a hurricane? With LOTS of rain gear, protection, and backups! No matter what the weather conditions are, I’ve got your back :) I had the honor of working with Jesse and Orlando again, and it was a joy to capture their beautiful wedding. Hurricane Ophelia made her debut the day of their wedding, but that did not stop them from celebrating their love.

They had an intimate outdoor ceremony at their home, and despite the pouring rain, it was one of my favorite memories! Everything, from the weather to the mood, was just so real and authentic. I loved seeing how Jesse and Orlando (as well as all the guests and vendors!) simply embraced the rain and the moment. During the procession, I also loved how all the guests were cheering and clapping their hands when Jesse made it to the tent and reached Orlando! The support and love was so evident.

After the beautiful ceremony, the reception took place at the iconic Durham Arts Council. They had a sophisticated and unique dinner experience, and even had the owner from Snap Pea there! He explained the thought behind the menu, and shared the creative process regarding the dishes for the evening. When it was time to dance, they had a fun SOUL TRAIN, and the moves everyone had were SO good :) See more priceless moments from this beautiful wedding below! Congrats again, Jesse and Orlando!

A Beautiful Fall Wedding | Charlotte Wedding Photographer

I had such a wonderful time working with Clarissa and Brandon again, and this time it was for their beautiful wedding in Charlotte, NC! They are truly a cheerful and easy-going couple, and I can’t tell you how many times they made me chuckle! :) One of my favorite parts of the wedding was capturing the bride and groom portraits, and I had so much fun documenting their silliness as well as their love for one another. Their big, fluffy, and sweet dog, Lucy, was also part of the wedding and she did the CUTEST head tilt when posing for the camera! They also had an epic dance party and I was especially blown away by the amazingly-choreographed mother-son dance! Most of all, the joy and love in the room were so evident. Congrats again, Clarissa and Brandon, and may you create many more beautiful memories together!

A Sweet Wedding at Drake's Landing | Raleigh Wedding Photographer

What a joyous day! I had the honor of photographing a sweet and intimate wedding for Lisa and Harold at Drake’s Landing in Fuquay-Varina. It was such a beautiful and sunny day, and I loved the relaxing and romantic atmosphere! I especially loved the signage that described their love:

“When two old souls fall in love, they make each other feel like home.

Together, they become the remedy for each other’s brokenness and heal past wounds.

Even their silence of togetherness sings a beautiful melody only known to them.

Their lives are forever changed.

To bring happiness to each other and a promise of a new beginning.”

After the ceremony, I captured portraits of them in a GORGEOUS little field. I usually give couples a lot of prompts and guidance when I’m photographing, but they were SO natural and comfortable in front of the camera that I barely had to give any direction! Their chemistry and connection with each other were beautiful, and I absolutely LOVED how they could easily make each other laugh and smile :) See more amazing photos from this sweet wedding below! Congrats again, Lisa and Harold!
